Meet Jo Ann Linzer
Jo Ann Linzer is a lifelong member of our community and proven prosecutor with more than two decades of serving justice and protecting the people of Texas.
Jo Ann launched her legal career defending law enforcement officers in the Texas Attorney General’s office and quickly found her true calling as a prosecutor—relentlessly pursuing violent offenders and standing up for survivors of family violence and sexual assault.
Jo Ann served as a prosecutor in several Texas counties, including Montgomery County as Chief Felony Prosecutor, and Grimes County as First Assistant District Attorney and Interim District Attorney. Her extensive public service experience gives her a deep, firsthand understanding of the criminal justice system—from the courtroom to the community—and a proven record of holding criminals accountable.
Jo Ann and her husband, Ron, raised their son Jeremy in The Woodlands. Today, Jeremy and his wife are carrying on the tradition, raising the next generation of Linzers in Montgomery County.

As a judge, Jo Ann will ensure the courtroom is a place where the law is enforced, justice is delivered, and victims are protected. She knows that keeping dangerous criminals off our streets is the foundation of safe, thriving communities.

From prosecuting violent predators to teaching the next generation of law enforcement, Jo Ann has worked tirelessly to keep Texas families safe. She understands the real impact crime has on victims and their loved ones. On the bench, Jo Ann will make decisions that put the safety of our neighborhoods and the wellbeing of families first—because every Texan deserves to feel secure in their home and community.

Jo Ann believes in the separation of powers and in the Constitution—not activist judges. She is committed to applying the law as written, not rewriting it to fit a political agenda. As judge, she will defend the rule of law, honor the Constitution, and ensure every case is decided with fairness, integrity, and respect for our founding principles.

Jo Ann Linzer attended high school in this community and has lived here for much of her life. She raised her family locally and has dedicated over two decades to serving justice and protecting the people of Texas.
After leaving a successful corporate career, Jo Ann pursued her passion for justice by earning her law degree. She launched her legal career defending law enforcement officers in the Texas Attorney General’s office and quickly found her true calling as a prosecutor—relentlessly pursuing violent offenders and standing up for survivors of family violence and sexual assault.
Jo Ann served as a prosecutor in several Texas counties, including Montgomery County as Chief Felony Prosecutor, and Grimes County as First Assistant District Attorney and Interim District Attorney. Her extensive public service experience gives her a deep, firsthand understanding of the criminal justice system—from the courtroom to the community—and a proven record of holding criminals accountable. As a prosecutor, Jo Ann was tough on crime and unwavering in her support for law enforcement. She fought tirelessly to protect victims and keep dangerous offenders off the streets.
Eager for a new challenge, Jo Ann opened her criminal defense practice in Conroe, bringing extensive courtroom experience to her clients. She earned Board Certification in Criminal Law in 2013, a distinction held by few Texas attorneys. As an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School, she shares her expertise with future lawyers. Jo Ann is also a respected speaker at conferences and seminars for judges, lawyers, and law enforcement across Texas. In honor of her outstanding contributions to prosecutor education, she received the prestigious C. Chris Marshall Award from the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association.
Committed beyond the courtroom, Jo Ann invests deeply in her community. She co-founded a nonprofit supporting local charities, has served on the boards of Family Promise of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and remains actively involved in Republican leadership.
She and her husband Ron are proud to have raised their son Jeremy here, where he and his wife are raising the next generation of the Linzer family.
